MNCR 4191  Contributor's Pick!
Through the years, I have gotten better at using Photoshop Elements. This image had some dust that needed to be removed and the shadow on the F40 was somehow red and magenta that needed to be removed as well. This is not something you see often on NJTransit Hoboken Division trains, a locomotive on the east end. MNCR 4191 prior to being rebuilt and repainted, pulls into Sloatsburg Station at CP Sterling in Sloatsburg, NY 10/2001. I believe this locomotive was originally an NJTransit locomotive. This is also prior to Metro Norths purchase of Comet V coaches. The coaches on this train are the equivalent to NJTransits Comet II coaches. When Metro North bought its own Comet V equipment, These cars, called Shoreliners by Metro North were sent across the river for East of Hudson service. At that time, Metro North stipulated that all of their west of Hudson trains be equipped with Comet Vs. Something that is still enforced to this day as I have never seen and Multi Level equipment on Metro North trains.
