Price. Here is a photo by Bill Price that was taken near Newport, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1956. Shown here is an unidentified trio of Pennsylvania Railroad Class "EF" units built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. This A-B-A set is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train out of Enola to Altoona and points West. Visible at the far left is a small portion of the left-to-right flowing Juniata River on its merry way from Hollidaysburg to Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. (Gift from Brad Mann.) |
