| Nice photo by Max Miller of the Pere Marquette 2-10-2 Santa Fe type locomtoive originally built by Baldwin in December 1919 for Lehigh Valley as class R-1 #4073 (c/n 52675), sold to Hocking Valley as their class F-1 #143 in May 1922. Pere Marquette leased #143 in 1929, then purchased it along with sister HV #141 (ex-LV #4071) in July 1930. They were renumbered 1198 (ex-LV #4071) & 1199 (ex-LV #4073) and served PM until being absorbed by the C&O, assigned #2961 but never applied. Final days were in July 1949 when it was scrapped. |
