Train 166 rolls south near Hallstead on the ex DLW. Note the yellow sign pointing off to the left. The D&H used these to indicate an upcoming grade crossing or other obstruction, the purpose being to warn plow operators to raise the plow blade to avoid damage to the plow(and a possible derailment) or to track structures. These are all over the D&H proper, and now on the ex DLW too, though this one has probably been there 20 years by now. |
