| Here is the old Sardis depot, built in 1960 and measuring 20'x48', passenger trains quit stopping here sometime between 1967 and 1969. This station closed as a train order office in 1970. The ICG finally sold the depot and property on July 21, 1982. Notice the old concrete milepost next to the newer one and notice the welded rail. This is one of the few sections on the Grenada District that has welded rail. |
