PRR 7018, EFS-17M, 1966
Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in May of 1966. Visible across Burgoon Run (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7018, an unidentified B-unit, and #7126. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7018 was built in November of 1955, while #7126 was built in June of 1957. In this context, they're rounding the Curve with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. (#23 of 39)
