THISTLE UT Aug 22 1981 -- Rio Grande GP30 3013 charges west at Thistle. This location was destroyed when a huge slide began on April 14, 1983 (http://utahrails.net/drgw/thistle-vanished.php). Web site utahrails.net reports this locomotive was built in May 1962 and retired in December 1993. It was was sold to OmniTRAX in August 1995. |

It was sold to Progress Rail in 1995 and again to Progress Rail in 1996. That same year, it was sold to Cimarron Valley Railroad. It ran on that line until 2018 when it was sold to Klarr Locomotive Industries and moved to Utah. |
