Title:
PRR 7110, EFS-17M, 1964
Description:
Gallitzin. Here is an original photo that I took at the State Route 53 Bridge near Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, on 13 September 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7110, #7180-B, #7015, and #7185. All are EFS-17M's road switchers built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7110, #7180-B, and #7185 were built in 1957 ~ but #7015 was built in 1955. They're about to pass under the Bridge with a 97-car coal train on its way down the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to the Eastbound Receiving Yard in Altoona. The cabin car is #477746. There're also three GM-EMD "pushers" coupled to the end of this train.
