Description:
Here is a one-page piece entitled "Rides 20 Hours Continuously in Broadway's Cab" that was first published in "The Pennsylvania News" dated February 15, 1931. Reprinted in Howard G. Hill's 1972 book entitled "Riding The Limiteds' Locomotives," page 119. It suggests that Colonel Hill "has probably won the distinction of being the only man to make the entire, continuous 908-mile trip between Manhattan and the Windy City in an engine cab."

Here is a photo by Kaufmann & Fabry that was taken near Englewood, Illinois, c. 1946. Caption On Reverse: "Broadway Limited and 20th Century Limited racing just East of Englewood, Illinois." At the left is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5354, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1924. At the right is an unidentified New York Central "J" Class (4-6-4) "Hudson." John S.
