Description:  Detween Shushan and Greenwhich Jct. the Batten Kill crosses the Batten Kill numerous times, but there is little way to access it, except by foot. This is the only crossing in that stretch, and when the road crosses the Batten Kill, it does so on a covered bridge, which could be used to frame the train, but I didn't want to chance a ear coming right when the train did. The rusty old sign on the left tells the flanger or spreader operator that there is a crossing coming up and to lift anythintg that is below rail level.

Title:  BKRR 605
Description:  Seen through the window of the old Greenwich enginehouse is one of the Battenkill's old Alco RS-3s. Built in 1950 as Lehigh & Hudson River Railway 10, it was sold to the Vermont Railway in the 1960s where it worked until being sold to the BKRR in the 1980s. It is the only former L&HR RS-3 in operating condition and one of three to survive from that road.
